📝 Match report 📝
North Dorset V Chard Ladies
What a game !!!
Our Chard Ladies were welcomed to North Dorset ladies division 3 side in our first preseason friendly game of 22-23 Warriors Series . Ground conditions were hard underfoot in a sun burnt pitch .
North Dorset took the spoils in a very competitive match played in an amazing spirit of competitiveness, sportsmanship and respect between both teams , displaying a fabulous game to watch by a very impressive crowd of supporters.
Chard ladies lead out on the field by captain Lucy Gosden.
North Dorset started strong with some impressive forwards runs but the Chard Ravens hard tackling and dogged defence gave the North Dorset side a shock at how much Chard had improved in this area. This told them that they are in a game today, ultimately allowing North Dorset to score twice , Chard Ladies struck back from a driving line out in North Dorset’s 22 caught by Cara Austin at the front of the lineout and driven over the tryline by Amanda, Jade T and Jade W, Zoe, Sarah, Laura, and Lucy and scored by the machine Jade Brooker. Impressively converted by Outside half Georgia Adams from a wide out position.
Half time came with the score 21-7 .
North Dorset started strong again with some fine runs by their 8 and very quick running backs scoring another few times.
Chard stuck to their structure and managed to supply the backs with more of the ball from some pod running by scrum half Georgie. There were some impressive runs by Georgia, Olivia, Charlie, Tamsin , Shanie and Emily.
The ravens determination and spirt scored the last try of the game starting from a scrum pick up by 8 jade, cleared out at the ruck by Ruth and first game at prop Kayleigh and supplied by Georgie at 9 to a devastating angle of run by Laura Jenkins going through 4 attempted tackles and scoring an amazing 40m try to finish the game .
Back of the match went to our baby of the team Tamsin Mckerrow, in her first ever adult ladies game, for her impressive fully committed hard hit tackling. Forward of the match to Laura Jenkins .
Final score was 46-12 to North Dorset.
Chard came off the field knowing whatever the result showed it felt like a win to us . 🏉💪
