Somerset cup 🏆
Chard 45 - Bridgwater & Albion 16
Chard welcomed Bridgwater for the quarter final of the Somerset cup. Chards 1st home game this season set to be played on the main pitch needed something special 👍.
Chard got off to a fast start with an early try - less than a couple of minutes in. Keeping the pressure on, Chard started to dominate the scrum and played some great rugby, good quick forward ball, using it well.
With everyone so eager to get the ball and play we had a period of the game where things weren’t quite going our way. After numerous penalties conceded and some good consistent comminication from the referee, the penny dropped and Chard reset themselves and went again. This was the big positive in the game for Chard. In games gone by we have watched the lads struggle to handle the repeat decisions not going their way.
But today they showed fantastic attitude to control that emotion and channel it back into their rugby.
Everyone stepped up and played today - great commitment to one another and a solid attitude.
Shout out to Harry & Felix who stepped up to play for Bridgwater today - well done for ensuring we could play 15 a side 👍.
Player of the game for Chard Ollie Hawker - getting off that line in defence 👊👍.
Too many people to name for making today such a success, but you know who you are- simply a massive THANK-YOU, we are all very grateful.
