Somerset County Cup Round 1, U15’s
Bristol Harlequins 0 - Chard 39
Chard travelled to Bristol for their 1st round game of the Somerset Cup - a squad of 23 players making the journey - huge thanks to the parents for great support.
Off the back of 2 previous tight games, verses Taunton & Sidmouth - both great battles but for Chard 2 point losses, Bristol Harlequins presented the third ‘away’ fixture in a row.
Chard started quickly with some quick hands and direct running the 1st score came within a couple of minutes settling the lads into the game. Lots of quick ball handling and space creation made for a fast exciting game.
Everyone today played some awesome rugby - the effort and willingness to play good fast rugby was very impressive to watch alongside a calm and collected focussed steadiness made for a formidable team.
Following the join up with the Crewkerne U15’s, all the lads are really starting to bond on and off the pitch. The commitment to one another is fantastic to see when they play.
The standard of play today was exactly what we’ve been working hard towards and as coaches, we couldn’t have been more proud.
